ABOUT HRAEF
The Hawaii Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (HRAEF) was established to enhance the restaurant and hospitality industry in Hawaii through service to the public through educational programs, industry engagement and promotion of the industry to future generations.

WHAT WE DO
The HRAEF supports the hospitality industry in Hawaii through educational programs that educate and inspire current and future hospitality industry workers and supports the philanthropic missions of the National Restaurant Association (NRA) and the Hawaii Restaurant Association (HRA).
STUDENTS
The ProStart National COA is your passport to the future. Earning the COA can give you a leg up in your job search, and opens the door to collegiate opportunities. Numerous restaurant, foodservice and hospitality programs offer benefits to ProStart graduates. These include scholarships, class credits and credit towards work experience requirements.

When joining the ProStart program, you are entering a network of more than 95,000 students in 1,900 high schools across 48 states, Guam and U.S. military bases. In the next decade, the hospitality industry is predicted to need an additional 2 million employees! The industry is relying on programs such as ProStart to help prepare students to take leadership roles as they progress in their careers. Over the past decade, ProStart has provided resources that range from professional development opportunities to scholarships, to marketing materials.
The Hawaii ProStart is an initiative developed by the HRAEF that incorporates:
- Culinary and restaurant management curriculum (FS Prep)
- Teacher excellence, industry support
- State of the art facilities, and student achievement
